Getting ready...Getting set....Getting ready to get set....TO GO....May 5th - 12th. Hy husband and I will be at the RIU Taino for one week of SUN, BEACH, FOOD, DRINKS, FUN and most of all RELAXATION! We are celebrating our 15th wedding anniversary on May 11th. We are also looking foward to a well deserved break from the normal hustle bustle of work work work! Can't wait to step foot on the sand.....at least until it blows in my face! YUCK...I don't like sand in the face...and I hate it when birds poop on my butt! Laughing

But I'll take the GOOD with the BAD! Rolling Eyes

Today is pretty gloomy here in Canada

....I just hope that Punta Cana is having nice weather for our arrival tomorrow May 5th - 12th.....did I mention I don't like RAIN! Laughing

Glad to be back. We had a great time but I was a little disappointed with the resort. It really was not up to par of a 5 star...and this being my first Riu experience I'm left feeling a little short changed. I wish I had known that the Taino was 18 years old and in desperate need of a face lift otherwise I would have booked at the Riu Bambu or either one of the Palaces. Live and learn..but all in all good and bad we have memories to last a life time. Thanks for all your help.

At the time of booking the Bambu versus the Taino it would have been about an extra $250.00...and the Palaces were about $340.00...don't get me wrong...we had a good time despite all the disapointments but it just lacked that WOW FACTOR if you know what I mean. And a 5 star resort should not have any BLACK MOLD in rooms....no exceptions!
