The Spanish hotel chain receives 18 TUI Holly prizes
in this year’s awards
Six of the eight establishments belonging to the RIU Hotels &
Resorts chain (www.riu.com) in the Dominican Republic have been
classified amongst the 100 best holiday hotels in the world for 2002,
according to the verdict of the TUI Holly prizes, awarded by the German
tour operator every year.
Specifically, the Spanish hotel chain has managed to place 18 of its
hotels amongst the 100 best establishments in terms of customer
satisfaction, according to the assessment the tour operator itself
obtains through questionnaires completed after guests’ stays.
The six prize-winning Dominican hotels are:
Riu Palace Macao, Riu
Taíno, Riu
Melao, Riu
Naiboa, ClubHotel
Riu Bambú and Riu
Merengue.
Apart from these Caribbean award winners, two more hotels in Mexico, the
Riu Palace Mexico and the
ClubHotel Riu Tequila, also
won prizes.
The Tunisian hotel Riu El Mansour was also distinguished with a TUI
Holly award.
As for Riu establishments in Spain, the award-winning hotels are the Riu
Belplaya in Torremolinos (Malaga); the Riu Festival in Majorca; Riu
Palace Meloneras and Riu Palmeras in Gran Canaria; Riu Palace Tenerife;
the Riu Palace Jandía in Fuerteventura, and the Riu Olivina (Hotel and
Apartments) and Riu Patio in Lanzarote.
